Laressa Batson was born in Flint, Michigan. Laressa started her dance training under Dan Durkacy at the Flint Dance Center and Karen Mills-Jennings at the Flint School of Performing Arts. Laressa attended Wayne State University receiving a BS in Dance (Cum Laude). Laressa has collaborated with choreographers and companies such as Nicholas Leichter, Darell Grand Moultrie, Eisenhower Dance Ensemble, and Project Theatre Company. Laressa has also taken classes at the International Association of Blacks in Dance, which includes Tamika Washington and Ray Mercer.
Laressa has traveled throughout the United States, as well as to Germany, Italy, and Austria to expand her dance career. Currently, Laressa is certified in All Levels of Pilates. Laressa’s goals are to help dancers stay strong and injury free, also helping expecting mothers stay healthy throughout their pregnancy.
